Opt-ins are a major factor in the overall success of your blog!
They are a win-win for you and your readers when strategy and time go into creating opt-in documents. In order for people to be willing to give out their email, they have to really believe the opt-in is going to make a difference for them!
This activity is an extension of #3 and #4.
Now that your opt-ins are created, it is time to decide where to strategically place them so your readers have easy access without them being overly distracting or irritating.
Make it easy for your readers to follow you by giving them multiple
opportunities to sign up to receive your newsletter. This means your opt-in needs to be placed all over your blog.
As you grow your blog, you will likely have a main opt-in, as well as numerous content upgrade opt-ins that enhance your blog posts.

STEP 1 ‣ Create your opt-in(s). Start with one, and as you grow your blog create more and add them as a companion download to your most popular blog posts.
STEP 2 ‣ The best places for placement are the top of the page, the end of blog posts, and the sidebar. I also put mine in-between paragraphs in a post.
STEP 3 ‣ If you have blog posts already up on your website, schedule a block of time to go through your most popular posts and complete an audit to be sure you have multiple opt-ins and locations for your readers to opt-in to your newsletter.
