Blog Growth Formula #12: Replace Your 'Home' Page With 'Start Here'
Your main landing page on your blog needs to be dynamic.
The old style is to list all your blog posts on this page.
Current research indicates this is not as effective as it used to be, and if you want people to click through to another page and stay on your blog longer, you need to pull them in from the first page they typically visit.
This is usually your ‘home’ page.

HOW TO
STEP 1 ‣ Change your menu verbiage from ‘Home’ to ‘Start Here’ so this is what readers see.
STEP 2 ‣ When linking bak to your website, use your ‘Start Here’ page as the main page to link back to (unless linking to a specific post from an image.)
STEP 3 ‣ Make this page powerful!
Be sure it includes the following information:
- Tells visitors what your blog is about
- It is a static page
- Includes a call to action (opt-in) preferably toward the top of the page
- Logo
- Blog branding (colors, fonts etc.) so it is established for your reader as they move to the other pages of your blog
Done! 😊
